Current Obession: Comfortable Ballet Flats

Heidi's Current Obsession:
Comfortable Ballet Flats
 (They really are comfy!)

In the past I have never found ballet flats to be comfy.
They always hurt my feet.
It never fails.
But, I love the look of them!
I think they are incredibly classic and chic.
At times I would just force myself to wear them.
I always regretted that choice.

Finally, after years of searching I have finally found
a pair that is truly comfortable and so cute!
I wore them for a long day last week, where I was on my feet for most of it.
My feet didn't ache once.
The best part is the are affordable. (Seriously, they really are!)
You will never guess who sells these little bad boys.

Yep.
I have been seeing commercials for their new"Dexflex by Dexter" shoe line for awhile now,
but never, ever, did I realize how comfortable these shoes actually would be.
They are really amazing, and they come in several different colors.
I bought black, navy and nude.
(I told you I was obsessed)
Want to know the best part?
They are on sale right now for $19.99
Go on and try them out.
I would love to know what you think of them!

Keeping A T-Shirt Sassy

I have quite a few graphic tees in my wardrobe, but don't wear them often enough. I love styling them with a simple pencil skirt and heels to dress up the look, but keep it sassy.
I always try to keep myself on a budget when shopping so some of my go to stores are Forever 21, H&M and Icing by Claire's. I always like to stay on trend and wear fashion forward looks.
Here is what I wore for a date night with my boyfriend:

Sunglasses: Icing by Claire's
Clutch: H&M
T-Shirt: Rue 21
Ring: Icing by Claire's
Pencil Skirt: Forever 21
Red Heels: Charlotte Russe

Sundance! Most Stylish Star -Selena Gomez

Sorry for the delay on posts guys! Sundance was crazy busy and this is the first moment I've had to get to a computer. I saw lots of celebrities at this years Sundance Film Festival and lots of great movies too! I thought it would be fun if I posted some pics on here of the stars I thought to be the most stylish.
First up the lovely Selena Gomez.
Who was nice enough to stop so I could grab a quick picture with her.
Check out her amazing coat!
Selena ran all around the streets of Park City looking chic in her stunning all black and denim ensemble.
Seriously this girl is beautiful in person.
Whats funny is I was even wearing a hat I bought last year that is from her "Dream Out Loud" collection she designed for Kmart.
I haven't been able to find who made her jacket, top or jeans,
but I was able to find an exact match for her booties.
They are made by Steve Madden and you can get them here.
Even better, they are on sale for $100! What a steal!
Now if I could only figure out how to get my hair to look like hers...

Lunch at a French Bakery

There is an adorable locally owned bakery in downtown SLC called Eva's Bakery. It is absolutely delicious! Last week I met a friend there for a lunch and quick catch up session. The bakery is French themed and is packed full of yummy food, pastries and desserts! It's always such a pleasure to eat there. You guys know when I saw this cat sweater I had to snatch it up right meow. ;) The weather was fairly warm that day so I opted for no coat. Not sure I can get away with that much longer!
Here is what I wore:

Cat Sweater: Halogen  (Nordstrom) (Still available)
Black Jeggings: Old Navy
Moto Boots: Brand Unknown (Forever Young Shoes)

Thanksgiving Dinner Style -Look One!

With Thanksgiving this week Kaya and I thought it would be fun to show you some outfits we think would be great to wear to Thanksgiving dinner. I'll post mine today then check back tomorrow to see what Kaya came up with!
I love how this shirt is a great mix of two of my favorite things. Peter Pan collars and stripes.
The collar helps keep the look dressy and the stripes add a touch of fun!
When wearing mostly neutral colors its always fun to add a bright color somewhere. In this case I added a bright pop of color with the nail polish. How are you celebrating Thanksgiving this year?
And more importantly, what will you wear there?
No matter how you choose to spend this day, be it with family, friends, your pets, by yourself, or maybe even working, I hope you get a least a few minutes to reflect on the things you are grateful for. Because after all, that is what the holiday is really about. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Paint it Black -Kaya's 5 Fashion Must Haves for Fall 2013

As you will come to discover, Heidi and I have very different styles.
Yesterday she posted her top 5 for fall.
Here are mine. (Keep in mind, I love color, but all these fabulous pieces are easily interchangeable!) .
paint it blackA

Number 1- black leggings. I wear black leggings vastly more than anything else during fall and winter. They go with everything, keep me warm, and help polish off my silhouette.
Number 2- Cardigan Sweater Easy to layer, warm, and classic. Don't be afraid of buying these in trendy colors or patterns.
Number 3- Black knee high boots. I'm in love with footwear, and this is my go to boot for fall. Again, black goes with everything, the shape is flattering, and they can easily be dressed up or down. Number 4-square scarf. There are so many ways to tie a scarf, have fun with it! Square is my favorite shape because it has so many possibilities. Have fun with the color, use that as your bold accessory if you don't wear a lot of jewelry.
Number 5- black peacoat. This is the finishing touch when pulling your pieces together. It adds a touch of simple sophistication, and can be worn with just about everything in your closet. Use a fun broach on your coat, or colorful scarf to add some interest.

Avenues Bistro, Al Fresco

Today I got to go to lunch with one of
my best girlfriends at an
adorable little spot called Avenues Bistro.
It had the most charming outdoor patio and the
food was delicious!
I've had the dress I wore hanging
in my closet with the tags on it since June!
I thought I better wear it ASAP
before it gets to cold.
Fun fact about this dress,
Its original price was $130
When I stumbled upon the dress, it had
been marked down to $90.
With an additional 30% off
Plus, Madewell  (like its parent company J.Crew)
offers a 15%teacher/student discount.
Meaning I paid about $50 for it!
That's a steal!
Anyway, here is what I wore:

Sunglasses- Stella McCartney (Nordstrom
Gold Hoop Earrings- Nordstrom (www.Nordstrom.com)
Bracelet- Madewell  (www.Madewell.com)

Penny Arcade Expo

At the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Seattle, after trying out the new Pokemon game.  Having only 20 minutes to get ready, here is what I wore, I went with a classic all black outfit. Black pencil skirt with sailor style buttons, and a black v neck tee. Simple hoop earrings, black sandals, and a denim jacket dress the outfit down.
