Green Skirt For Work
I picked up this green skirt at J.Crew last year for a steal! It is absolutely one of my go to skirts. I love the rich color and the fit is so flattering. I also adore the detail at waistbands. J.Crew and the J.Crew Factory carry the skirts almost all the time and I highly recommend them.
Here is what I wore to work last week:

All Plaid All The Time
As I'm sure you have now realized, I am a big supporter of plaid.
To say I have a few plaid shirts is an understatement.
I love them because I think they are a classic, versatile, piece
that can be worn in lots of different ways!
I tend to style it in preppy way, but plaid can be easily styled to fit your personality.
How do you wear your plaid?

Sweater and Scarf
Although you can't tell by the snow in the background, the weather here in SLC has been pretty warm lately. To the point that I haven't worn a coat in weeks. It's the perfect time to layer up.
One of my favorite casual layering looks is a scarf with a sweater.
It's so cozy and warm. It's always a plus when my puppy and I can match too.
The boots I picked up at Payless on a whim and they have been one of my go to pairs this past winter.
Earrings: Lucky Feather (Dolly's Bookstore)
Scarf: Rubbish (Nordstrom)
Sweater: Maison Jules (Macy's)
Jeans: A&G (Nordstrom)
Boots: Brash (Payless)

Lunch With Friends
A couple weeks ago (when we still had snow here...) I went to lunch with my good friend Trixi and our friend Derek who was visiting from NYC.
We went to this great restaurant called Mazza that is absolutely delicious. It was great catching up with them!
I have this thing that if I don't wear something in my closet I have to get rid of it. (Okay, lets say I'm trying REALLY hard to do this. It's easier said then done!) Hence the faux fur vest I am wearing in todays post. It's not my favorite, yet I never get rid of it when I do closet clean outs.
Faux fur isn't really my thing. I feel weird wearing it, it scares my pets, and I constantly worry people will think its real. That said, I bought this vest a few years back for a Halloween costume where I was a wolf, and every now and then I force myself to wear it in order to get my moneys worth and allow it to keep living in my closet.

Kate Middleton Inspired
The other day at work a girl I work with was pursuing photos of the beautiful Kate Middleton. Every since she burst onto the style scene I feel like I often find myself saying. "This is SO Kate Middleton. I have to have it!"
Such was the case with the blazer I wore to work. I was digging through the clearance rack a few years back at Nordstrom Rack when a friend of mine found this gem. I am obsessed with this blazer, yet somehow I always forget to wear it!
Well after spending a good chuck of my day looking at Kate's photos with my coworker. I was inspired. So here is what I wore that was inspired by the stunning Duchess of Cambridge.
Who do your draw your style inspiration from?

Dinner With Friends
Some days I feel like winter is never going to end!
So I guess until it does I'll just have to keep posting winter outfit ideas.
Here is one I came up with that I think would be great for a casual dinner out with some girlfriends.
I love the fun prints on the shirt and the leggings and the softness of the quilting on the boots.
The bag is a great transition piece that can easily go from work to a fun night out.

French Hen at Work
You guys know how much I love my French Hen sweater. I pretty much wear it every opportunity I get! One of my favorite ways to wear an animal motif is with a button up shirt. I think it helps what could be considered a juvenile clothing item look more age appropriate.
