Elephants

This week I worked downtown and needed to dress up a little.
I decided it was time to wear my new elephant button down.
I picked up this "Elephant March" shirt at Madewell when I was in NYC.
It was too adorable not to buy.
The motorcycle pants have become a new favorite of mine.
I love the fit, and the zippers, as well as the interesting details down the legs.
Here is what I wore to work this week:

Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Wayfarers (Nordstrom)
Necklace: Holding Pattern Necklace (Madewell)
Button Up: Elephant March Boyshirt (Madewell)
Pants: Motorcycle Pants, (American Eagle Outfitters, no longer available)
Ballet Flats: DexFlex (Payless-Similar

To say I have a few plaid shirts is an understatement.
I love them because I think they are a classic, versatile, piece
that can be worn in lots of different ways!
I tend to style it in preppy way, but plaid can be easily styled to fit your personality.

French Hen at Work

You guys know how much I love my French Hen sweater. I pretty much wear it every opportunity I get! One of my favorite ways to wear an animal motif is with a button up shirt. I think it helps what could be considered a juvenile clothing item look more age appropriate.

Work

I just realized that a few weeks ago I uploaded these photos,
and wrote this entry but forgot to publish the post!
So its a few weeks late, but here is what I wore for a causal day at work:

Shirt: Layers Clothing (Now out of business)
Cardigan: American Eagle Outfitters (www.ae.com) Still available
Jeans: AG Jeans (www.Nordstrom.com) Similar styles available
Boat Shoes: Daniel Gray (www.shoebuy.com) Still available
Hair Pin: Marc by Marc Jacobs (Kitson store in LA)

My favorite thing about this sweater is the zipper detail.
I love how a simple thing like a zipper on a pocket, can
take a regular black boyfriend cardigan and make it just a
tad more exciting!
I have way too many cardigans, but I love how unique this one is!

Mad for Plaid

Plaid has always been one of my favorite things to wear
There are so many different options when it comes to plaid.
You can wear a little, or wear a lot!
I love plaid because it can be easily  dressed up
or dressed down.
Plaid has had so many great fashion moments in history.
From classic historical tartans
to the Seattle grunge scene,
Plaid has been around for centuries,
and I don't think it's going anywhere.
Here are some fun ways to wear plaid:
