Halloween Throwback -Flappers!

For our last Halloween throwback I thought I should show you two different flapper styles that Kaya and I both happened to do in the same year, 2009.
Its funny we were both flappers this year, because we didn't know each other yet!
Kaya choose to make her dress, while I found mine at H&M for about $20.
The wig and pearls I borrowed from my roommate at the time.
I told you guys I never put much effort into my costumes. ;)
I hope you like our different take on the roaring twenties.

HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Halloween Throwback -Aphrodite

Hi Everyone! With Halloween just a little over a week away, Kaya and I thought it would be fun if we did a few throwback posts of some of our old Halloween costumes.
So here we go!

This Halloween throwback is from 2010 when I dressed up as Aphrodite.
My friend Mayra went as Venus. (We thought it was a very clever idea)
I rarely spend a lot of time on my costumes. I'm more of a what do I have in my closet that I can make into a costume in 5 minutes or less type of person.

But this year was an exception. I worked really hard to sew both our costumes... by hand.
Clearly I was crazy. Or maybe I was inspired because I was in college and had a sewing class at the time.

So here it is! I was literally drenched in glitter...

What are you dressing up as for Halloween this year?

Fashion Quote Friday

Fall Friday Working

Last Friday I had to head downtown to merchandise and meet with a department store manager. I wanted to be able to move mannequins around while still looking professional and fashionable. It was a little chilly Friday so I was excited to get to wear my deer sweater that I bought at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale last July. (You guys know how much I love an animal motif!) Here is what I wore:

Plaid Button Up Shirt -Lucky Brand (I got mine at the Macy's store, but
they are still available at www.macys.com and www.luckybrand.com)
Deer Sweater -Halogen (Nordstrom)
Bracelets -Madewell (Madewell store at The Grove Mall in LA)
Jeans -AG Jeans (Nordstrom)

Boots - Zigi Soho (Still available at www.DSW.com)
These boots are quickly becoming my go to boots this fall.
They are so comfy!

Saturday Run Around

As usual I spent last Saturday busy running errands all over town. It was little cold and rainy that day,
so I decided to wear a warm sweater and boots. I call these pants my "fall floral" pants because although they are floral, then colors seem much more fall then spring to me. Because the pants are such a statement piece I kept the rest of my look simple.  Here is what I wore:

Oatmeal Cable Knit Sweater -Caslon (Nordstrom)
Gold Locket -Brand Unknown
(Similar styles are still available at www.Nordstrom.com)
Floral Jeggings -Zara (Zara store in Las Vegas)
Boots -Madden Girl (Similar styles still available at www.DSW.com)

GUCCI Made to Measure

Have you guys had a chance to check out the new Gucci cologne ad staring my love James Franco?
It's clearly a visually stunning ad, but the question remains,
Does the new(ish) trend of longer movie type ads make
you go out and buy the cologne?
Have you had a chance to smell
"Made To Measure"?
What did you think?

Take Me To The Beach!

It seems as the weather gets colder
I find myself missing the beach more and more!
Sadly, living in landlocked Utah I don't get to spend much time at the beach.
But that doesn't mean I can't be inspired by it.
Please enjoy this nautical inspired look for fall
I recently put together.
